"It shall be in that day
That a man will keep alive a young cow and two sheep; So it shall be, from the abundance of milk they give, that he will eat curds; For curds and honey everyone will eat who is left in the land." vs22
If we get spared and obtain mercy, then we get the fat of the land.
The elect are a SPECIAL PRIVILEGED people, and sinners shout, "Unfair," but you’d be elect, if you believed. It's not God's fault that sinners are not chosen. They do not want to be! All they have to do is trust Christ for salvation, but they refuse.
If you want to be saved, then you will be! Call on the name of the Lord. “For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved [Rom 10:13].’”
“Inasmuch as these people refused
The waters of Shiloah that flow softly,
And rejoice in Rezin and in Remaliah’s son;
Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up over them
The waters of the River, strong and mighty—
The king of Assyria and all his glory;
He will go up over all his channels
And go over all his banks." Isa 8:6-7
If we don't choose the right way, then we will have destruction. God's wrath will come because we have chosen evil. It's not God's fault!
If we walk in unbelief, then WE WILL be chastened. He will bring us down. No other righteousness but faith, no other strength but the Spirit, and no other will can be done but God's!
People think the Lord exists for their own will, so they plot dreams and use Jesus's name to serve the flesh. It will not prevail. God's peace will not be there. Self-will (using Christ to serve myself) will never win in the court of heaven. God will never give the Spirit for man to serve himself.
God blesses the meek, who say, "Your will be done by Your strength for Your glory through Your Son's righteousness alone.” This is the way of peace, and there's no other.
“Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’
Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy,
Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled." vs12
If you're in Christ, then you have nothing to worry about, and you have nothing to fear. The Lord is on your side, if you're walking by faith. Trials will come, but NOT TO DESTROY. “Indeed they shall surely assemble [trials and troubles,] but not because of Me [not to destroy.] Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake [Isa 54:14-15].” More grace will be given and more peace [2 Cor 12:9-10.] We'll have the pleasure of doing God's will.
Let Him be your dread, and you walk with Christ safely [Isa 8:13]. He will be near: He approves of your cry for His will to be done and for Him to have the glory. He won't disappoint faith. You'll see God's glory.
“He will be as a sanctuary,
But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense
To both the houses of Israel,
As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem." vs14
Finally, the same Christ who saves you will destroy others, because they believe not! The gospel comes, and they refuse. God shows Himself mighty, but they don't want His help. They choose bitterness and reject the sweet, choosing wrath instead of mercy on God's terms.
Let us be warned and confident, fearful and obedient. Listen to the gospel and live by its commands. God has blessed faith alone.
