Just Askin': Nakedness at the beach.

I put a question out to my facebook friends the other day. It was about semi-nakedness at the public beach. Not about the world's practices, but about ours.

I normally get some kind of response to the things I bring up over there. All my friends are professing Christians. But on this issue, total silence.

A head-scratcher. Have we gotten so wedded to the culture that anything goes? Silly question, yes? Of course we have.

But I'm still waiting on a response from those who feel it is perfectly OK to shed most of our clothes in public, simply because the beach demands it.

Not against swimmimg. Talkin' about uncovering the body in the full view of others. Don't we know what kind of people are out there watching? Don't we care that inciting lust in others is a sin before God just as much as putting a bottle of liquor in front of a recovered alcoholic?

Why do believers always have to do the things the world is doing? Why the call for liberty but not the call for holiness?

Someone needs to say something. Someone with authority in the church. One of our nationally-known ministers needs to mount his pulpit and say, Cover yourselves, for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

I won't be holding my breath.

But the question is still out there.

Oh, I have many more questions like that one.
