Many things died on that cross 2000 years ago. The cross is an instrument of death. Christ died for the sins of His people. His people should die in response, to the sins of the flesh. Now by faith in His finished work, the world and every sinful thing about it is dead to me. I hate it with a Holy hatred. I am now dead to the world and the world is dead to me! “Love not the world neither the things of the world. If any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him” If the world hates Christ, how can a Christian love the “world” (This Godless system)? I set before you the Cross of Christ! Nail yourself to it, daily! Let your flesh, (the old nature) become a rotting corps upon the instrument of death which Christ died for our sin. You are either killing sin or it is killing you!
