“For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh...” (Romans 8:3)
Before His people could be saved, there was that which God, consistent with the Divine nature, required to be judged according to the strict judgment of His own righteousness. That righteous judgment was fulfilled in the vicarious suffering of His people, the righteous judgment of God demanded and obtained the condemnation of the flesh in the crucified Substitute.
Not only was this accomplished but it was seen to have been accomplished in the flesh of Him Whose body was hung up to die in ignominy and shame. The real Truth about the shocking disgrace, the shameful humiliation of the cross, comes to light in the Doctrine set forth in the apostolic epistles of the New Testament.
