It should go without saying, but I would like to assure you that during the upcoming provincial lockdown we will continue to gather as before. We will not allow the worship of our King to be altered by the regulations or traditions of men. We will continue to render unto Caesar what is his and to God what is His. But we will not give to Caesar what is God's. If you are within driving distance and have no church to go to you are welcome to join us.
In an earlier letter to the congregation our elders communicated the following principles from which we will not be moved:
1. We will never turn anyone away from any worship service.
2. We do not believe that worshiping via Zoom or live stream is participating in corporate
(public) worship.
3. We believe that the congregation ought to be physically gathering for worship.
Jesus Christ - not the civil government - is head of the Church. While other churches will argue that the government is only affecting circumstances “around” worship, we believe that the congregation gathering together for worship, in person, is not only an element of worship but indeed the foundation of it and therefore fully under the authority of the Church, and only the Church. Put differently, we believe that the civil government restricting the Churches ability to gather for worship is commanding the things “in” worship and therefore unlawful.
