(Isaiah 55:6-7) “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
Why do we wait until we have drifted so far from the shore to try to swim back to safety? Wouldn’t it be better to stay close to the Lord than to have to fight the current of sin to come back to Him? “The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak” It is the nature of sheep to stray! This is why we need a Shepherd. May the Shepherd of our souls move our hearts to repentance.
(Deuteronomy 4:29) “But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”
