“Coffee with Christ” (Deuteronomy 6:5)
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”
(Matthew 22:37)
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
This is a Biblical teaching on “LOVE”. It comes from the heart but is led by the will. Clint Black wrote two songs concerning Love, and Marriage.
1. Something That We Do
2. When I said I do
The first tells us love is not something that we find or have! It’s not something that we are in or someplace that we fall. It’s not the words that we said but that it is something that we “DO”. An act of the will.
The second tells us that it is a determination that will last till the end of all time.
This is the picture and example of Gods Love for His bride. He doesn’t love her because she is beautiful, lovable or even faithful. His love for her is not a reflection of who she is but who of He is!
(Ephesians 5:25)
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”
(Colossians 3:19)
“Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.”
(Titus 2:3-5)
“The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”
