"The Gift that will not disappoint" Isaiah 9:6 Set your heart on Jesus as He is no disappointment. The Bible uses names to describe attributes and here He describes the perfect attribute of His Son.
Wonderful Counselor: He IS the wonderful Counselor. We have a host and many counselors in today's day and age. We need wisdom, direction, and often times seek counsel! Here is one with whom every counselor pales in comparison. The One who would rule the world. One who HE Himself is WISDOM! He was filled with so much wisdom that He dazzled the priests at the temple. And He has become the wisdom to us from God Himself. The very highest credentials and qualifications! He is a wonder! Beyond understanding who is a very wonder in His person AND being and is also very God Himself in the Trinity! Coming in human flesh, suffering as we suffer, tempted as we are tempted. God became man.....and oh what a wonder! Where do you turn to for your counsel? Set your heart on Jesus the Wonder of wonders...the Counselor!
The Mighty God: Kings gather wise counsel around them, but He is His own wisdom and counsel. A King with unlimited wisdom and power. The Mighty God who does whatever He pleases to accomplish the Father's plan and ultimately the power and wisdom of God! Stronger and wiser than any man as He created man. Wisdom is useless unless there is a powerful change. Many will point you back to yourself in the giving of their "wisdom" and the same person that needs the help and counsel.....BUT God's wisdom can change. "My grace is sufficient enough!" The very things we cannot do HE enables us to do!
The Mighty God and a Hero in the fact that He is God WITH US! Do you stand in awe of Him? He is perfect...worthy of you and I to pattern our lives of. One of all power, yet one full of compassion who touches the diseased and the outcast..who came to be a Hero so we can be "like Him!"
This season many will drink themselves and get lost in the season and all that goes on around this season, but with those whose hope is IN HIM, they will never be put to shame. We often say "remember the reason for the season..."
Do you know the true meaning of Christmas? That baby is the Mighty God and our Wonderful Counselor!
