As Christians we are always learning. We want to learn about Christ and we want to learn from Christ. However, we are often poor pupils and fail to learn our lessons. We frequently fail to listen or else we easily forget that which the Lord has taught us. We falter and fall often. I think if we were in an earthly school the teacher would put us out of class and because of our sins maybe even expel us from the whole school. The Lord however, as meek and lowly, is long suffering and kind. He is not wearied to keep giving us our lessons. He never gives up on His pupils no matter how often we fail. He is ever ready to begin the lesson that by now we should already know. If the Saviour had not meekness, kindness and patience with us what would become of us? Then we could never hope to become Christlike. We can rest in the thought that the Lord does not teach us because we are worthy and bright pupils, but rather, He patiently teaches us that He might make us so.
