Here is the simple demonstration of the nature of our salvation, it is all of God, all of grace, and all purchased with the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. We have less than nothing to do with our salvation, with our acceptance in the sight of God, and with our forgiveness written in scarlet on a cross... In our arrogance we so often think that salvation speaks something about us, that it tells us how special WE are, that it tells us how wonderful WE are, that it tells us that God just couldn’t imagine eternity without US… but in truth the hero of salvation is God our Father who chose us, it is Jesus Christ our Savior who died for our sin, it is the Holy Spirit our comfort who calls us and seals us… the hero of our salvation is GOD. The center of the story is GOD. The wonder of all creation is the GOD who is, the GOD who saves, the GOD who loves, although we did not and do not deserve that love! While Paul tells us that we have been made qualified to be partakers, it must never be forgotten that God MADE us qualified, it is not inherent in us, it is not our nature, it is not our worth. It is the God who spoke all things into being who has breathed life into our dead flesh and created sons where only rebels were before. And it is NOT because of US, but because He chose to love where love was not deserved! Precious one, I beg you in light of God's everlasting grace that you fight against the tendency to elevate self to the center, and instead echo the heart of scripture which everywhere celebrates and makes much of the risen Christ who is our ONLY reason, our ONLY hope, our ONLY life!!!
