In Genesis 1:28 we have a principle drawn from divine wisdom in the creation of man “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth”, First the man, then his counterpart, afterward came the mandate, “Multiply and replenish the earth,” The mandate was families. God’s design was a family for the habitation of His vast creation. “And the Lord God said it is NOT GOOD THAT MAN SHOULD BE ALONE; I will make him a help meet (suited or fitted) for him.” Out of all the creation no creature suited Adam until God had formed the woman from his side and brought her to him. Eve, being made from Adam’s very substance, was fashioned as his exact counterpart. As the man was the reflection of the being of God, so the woman was the reflection of the man’s own being. The ultimate purpose of this newly formed unit is seen in the words of Genesis 2:23. Eve being “bone of his bone, and flesh of his flesh,” Adam said, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be ONE flesh.” This teaches us that it is the directive of the man, as the head of the woman, to step from the confine of his own home and become the founder of a new home. Therefore it is families which was the original design of God. The family is clearly central to the Biblical way of life and it is the family under God, acknowledging God in all its way that has this centralization. Sadly to say we are in a day that the traditional family is in rapid decline. It is being encouraged by the ideology of the secular progressives and liberals who have infiltrated the university system of our nation and now are making a strong move on the public schools with an evil agenda to corrupt the minds of our youth. The wicked design to rewrite the constitution to enforce the ungodly relation of same sex marriage is nothing less than an attempt to destroy the Biblical doctrine of the family. It is impossible for those in a same sex relation to produce a family. Holy families must be the chief preservers of the interest of true religion in the world. Therefore if God has blessed you to have a family, as parents you have a full-time job, you have a responsibility to care for your children’s emotional, physical and spiritual well-being (Col.3:21). Parents are to create an atmosphere of love to God and to one another in the home, raising the children to be assets to the Kingdom of God. Scripture says “raise up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” It is not saying when he is old he will be saved, but when he is old he will remember those things he was taught in his home. He may not acknowledge them in his life but he will remember them. Dad and Mom are responsible for this teaching; they are responsible in teaching their children the fear of the Lord, not meaning they are to be afraid of the Lord [as a tyrant] but reverence and honor Him. He is omnipresent when the turmoil is going on in a home and He is certainly not pleased with it. He is also present and pleased when the teaching of Himself takes place and there is harmony throughout the family. A holy, happy family is but an earlier heaven.
