“FELLOW WORKERS FOR THE TRUTH” [3 John 5-8]
“Beloved, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers, and especially since they are strangers to you. They have testified to the church about your love. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. For they went out on behalf of the Name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support such men, so that we may be fellow workers for the truth.” vs5-8
I want to say, “Thank you,” to those of you who have supported me thus far - financially and in prayer.
Some of you have sacrificed tremendously, giving until it hurts, and I remember you joyfully and thankfully before the throne of grace.
We have made it two years in Nigeria, and you are my fellow laborers! We’ve seen men and women saved, pastors converted to the truth, churches strengthened, and a non profit organization established.
Sovereign Grace African Fellowship is a missionary organization conquering Sub Saharan Africa with the gospel. This is how I receive my income - from your gifts -and this is how we assist other pastors and missionaries in Kenya and Nigeria. You have given generously when called upon.
Sovereign Grace African Foundation is a newly registered non profit / non governmental organization in Nigeria, going about doing good because He is with us. We take our theme from Acts 10:38,
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.” vs38
As we travelled North into Kaduna and Katsina, near Nigeria’s northern border, our hearts broke from what we saw - children forced into marriage, churches persecuted violently, kidnapping testimonies, schools unable to pay teachers, etc - so we cried out the God, and this, we believe, is something that will help.
Adaeze Vienny Oputah, a new convert to sovereign grace, and I established the Foundation with the help of concerned saints in Canada and the UK.

We go into Muslim communities in the Norther, where churches are being persecuted, to provide the Muslims with free medicine, vetrinary care for their cattle, and to preach the gospel to them. We hope this helps diminish the persecution by working through local churches, and we, of course, want them saved.
-
We provide education for children. They are often unable to pay, but they are willing to work. In Nigeria, poor children often have no access to school and must work all day to help the family. They are willing to work part of the day - farming, working in trade industry, etc - to supplement their education. These schools often have land and simply need resources and assistance to become self-sufficient.
-
We’ve been offered land in Abuja, Calabar, and Benue, but we must go through the official process, which can be difficult to navigate. Adaeze is experienced and served as Executive Secretary for high level government officials before the current Muslim regime took over.
-
We publish free books! We have published, “Five Smooth Stones: Essays and Articles on the Gospel God’s Grace,” and, “Sermons North and South: Messages to Nigeria and the World.” 1,000 copies of “Five Smooth Stones” have been distributed in churches and schools. We hope to do the same with “Sermons North and South,” and translate at least 500 copies into Hausa, the language of Northern Muslims.
-
Our desire is a university, where students can learn trades - medical and scientific - to support their families by working abroad. Many graduates in Nigeria have education but no opportunity. We also want to teach Biblical Theology, and Business, so that we can spread the gospel and increase self-sufficiency.
We believe schools are a great way to advance the cause of Christ, particularly when boarding is offered. Our goal is to be elite, similar to Rafiki Foundation, and provide assistance to poorer students, while those who can afford it pay.
-
These things do not stop us from preaching the gospel, which is my greatest ambition - to bring the gospel to people deceived by prosperity preaching in the South and dead formalism in the North. The gospel was in the North. Faithful missionaries brought it, but now the old men stand up and say, “Sir, I have not heard that since I was a little boy,” or, “I’ve never heard that in my life, and that’s the message that we must preach.” These were testimonies that we heard!
I’m coming home, the Lord willing, in October, 2020. Tomorrow, I fly to Port Harcourt, a major oil town in Southern Nigeria, to minister the gospel for 3 weeks at various churches, house, and outdoor meetings.
Please pray for us! Only God can give the gospel in the Holy Spirit, and we must have it: Words mean nothing without the Spirit’s influence.
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water [the word of God] and the Spirit. [John 3:5]
Please consider supporting the missionary arm, Sovereign Grace African Fellowship. I receive no salary from the Foundation.
If you know larger corporate donors and others interested in quality education, medical care, and “work to eat,” programs in Nigeria, then send them our way. We hope to be registered in the U.S. when I return this Fall.
In January, I plan to return to the capital of Nigeria, Abuja, and work further north in Kaduna. We had the most powerful meetings in Kaduna’s villages and in the city.
Covid-19 has hurt some who support us. I can feel the tears in the emails, as some have had to cut back what they give. Please pray for them; it is accepted according to what a man has, not what he does not.
We are zealous in the work and thrilled to be partnering with God.
“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.” [1 Cor 3:9]
I have included the pdf of “Sermons North and South.” I hope that you are encouraged!
