Lady Gaga, a very prominent and popular recording artist among the LGBTQIA+ community, came out with a song called Born This Way. If you have ever listened to the song or read the lyrics you know that it glorifies the LGBTQIA+ community and those who are allied with it telling them there is nothing wrong with who they are, who they love, or who they choose to be. In fact, it wholly supports the notion all of that is ok because they were simply Born This Way. But were they really or did they choose that way? The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:26-28 and 2:15-25 that humans were created by God as man and as woman, and when we look at the biological evidence of this called DNA, we see this fact as irrefutable. A man cannot biologically become a woman and a woman cannot biologically become a man. DNA is not interchangeable. Men are biologically male, and women are biologically female. There has never in the history of humankind been a man who could mutate their DNA into that of a female or vice versa. It is biologically impossible. Those who are transgender choose to dress, act, and yes, even surgically attempt to become the opposite gender. They are not born that way or with the ability to transform back and forth between the genders. Gender is set in the womb as the baby is developed. So, to be transgender is a choice. They are not born that way.
Also, in the creation of man and woman we see how God created them to be together and not with the same gender. God saw Adam alone and created Eve, a woman, to be his wife. He did not create another male for Adam to be with, nor did he create two women to be together. Homosexuality is a product of sin and sin the product of the fall of man in the garden. When sin entered the world it marred everything, including human thinking and relationships. How did this happen?
When Adam freely ate the forbidden fruit of his own will he committed sin, and because Adam was the representative of all mankind sin entered the world through him and is passed on in birth. We are all born sinners (Romans 5:12). This means Adam passed sin to his children and they passed it to their children and they passed it to their children and so on and so forth. We are all born sinners. Because of this our hearts are continually sinful, which causes our thoughts to be sinful, in turn causing us to commit sinful actions (Gen. 8:21/Matt. 15:19). So, because our hearts are sinful so are our thoughts, which affects our reasoning.
We as humans tend to reason and rationalize that if our actions do not hurt anyone then they are ok and good. By this reasoning when someone reasons that they are attracted to the same sex, they at the same time are reasoning that since their attraction is not hurting anyone it is ok to continue to be attracted to the same sex. Choosing to be attracted to the same sex, and since our sinful hearts breed sinful thoughts eventually those thoughts will turn into sinful actions. Therefore, due to sinful thoughts being rationalized as hurting no one, same sex attraction then can become a same sex relationship since it will hurt no one. But here is a question.
What if the person you are attracted to has a spouse and your acting upon your attraction has drawn them away from that spouse and/or family? Has the spouse/family not been hurt by your actions?
You say the person you are attracted to has no spouse or is not in a relationship. Ok, here is another question.
What if the person you are attracted to is deeply connected to their family, who holds vastly different beliefs than you that LGBTQIA+ is a sin? When you lure them away from their family are you not hurting that family and possibly causing the person being lured away to resent you in the future for having done so?
You say the person you are attracted to is not deeply connected to their family due to any number of reasons. Ok, here is another question?
What if the person you are attracted to acts upon their attraction to you and you start a relationship, but somewhere down the line you decide you do not like this person anymore and want to see someone else you have become attracted to and you break up with them? Have you not hurt the person by your actions?
You say these things can be said about heterosexual couples. Yes, they can. They choose to act upon their attractions as well. But the main word and key word here is CHOOSE. Just as heterosexual people choose to reason out their attraction and actions so too do LGBTQIA+ individuals. It is a choice that is made. No one is born LGBTQIA+. However, everyone is born a sinner. Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death,” and Proverbs 16:2 says, “All the ways of man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.” Mankind in their reasoning view their choices and actions as clean or good. However, God being Holy, completely separate from sin, and being the ultimate good, is the one who determines the difference between sin and not sin.
Humans are faulty in their reasoning because we are born sinners, and therefore, will every time choose a sinful action over a non-sinful action. In this case choosing to be attracted and act upon those attractions to the same sex. Why? Because it is their truth and only they can determine what truth is. Mankind props themselves up as idols “exchanging the truth of God for a lie” to serve themselves, grasping onto the man-made rationale of born this way to justify their sinful attractions and actions (Romans 1:25). They would rather grasp firmly onto a lie than let go, admitting their faultiness, and repenting. With the truth of God being he does exist, he created everything with an order and a purpose, and he alone gets to declare what is and is not against his created order. For those who continue to reject God and his order following their own ways that seem right in their own eyes the end is destruction, death of both body and soul. But there is an escape from this. By placing your faith completely in Christ believing he alone provided all the necessary works for your salvation and repenting of this sinful lifestyle choice. Only Christ can save you. No matter how many good works you do or how good of a person you think you are, you cannot save yourself. Romans tells us clearly, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” and “the wages of sin are death” (Romans 3:23, 6:23a). This is both of body and eternally of soul. But, the second part of Romans 6:23 states, “But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
