“But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be dissolved by fire, and the earth and its works will be burned up.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.” [2 Pet 3:10-13]

This world is going to be destroyed. Everybody knows it who knows God. We don’t know when, but we do know that when they cry peace and safety, the End will come [1 Thess 5:2]; it will catch many unawares, but we know now, because we have the proof of God’s word, and we are ready.

Like Noah, we’ve prepared the Ark, and the Lord has closed us in. He will come with a shout, the last trumpet, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then, whoever is alive and loves our Lord will meet Him in the air to be glorified forever with God - full of peace, joy, and holy perfection.

The wicked, however, will be damned and punished. They refused the warnings. He sent covid-19, but they were not scared of God. He sent calamity and strife, confusing us in our mockery of God, but they were never brought to repentance! He cried out, but they would not hear, so He hardened their hearts and closed His ears [Prov 1:22-33]. They will ask for mercy - pleading and begging - but He’ll consign them to the Pit without pity or remedy!
