And the word became flesh and dwelt among us…(John 1:14)

If we are to know God and know His perfect peace, we must know the one word of these two scriptures. They are one word, the Christian gospel.

God is Who He is. He is Being of beings. Being over all. Holy. Spirit. Infinite Being. The Savior God of His people.

This God becomes flesh. A small, weak human being, dwelling among sinners. The Savior God of His people.

Being becomes. God…human. Infinite one in a body. Holy one not only near, but dwelling with the profane. Befriending, loving…the unlovable.

No one ever said figuring this out, understanding this Christianity, would be easy.

The Bible even calls this God manifest in the flesh a great mystery of divinity ( I Timothy 3:16).

And something we can only begin to know by faith (e.g. John 6: 69).

And Some One, some I Am whose other name is Wonderful (Isaiah 9:6).

So improbableimpracticalimpossible scoffers say, and there are better things and more reasonable to believe and to do…and viruses, and bodies and economies, and societies to fix.

When all the while, and right under fools’ noses, and ever since God ever spoke and especially now in the word become flesh…

There has been a way, the only way, even out of a pandemic.

Jesus Christ, Savior of sinners. God with us.

Hear that word, beloved: God with you.

Be really healthy, really alive. Through faith. In I Am Who is become. And Who still is.

For such a time as this.
