But that’s just the thing, you see…there is a bigger, more important point to understand here…and I say this to anyone and everyone who calls themselves Christian. So please, indulge me here for a brief moment. Because I see so many professing believers caught up in things that are not focused on or grounded in eternity. Like parading bitterness about people who don’t share our views, arguing politics as a sport, and fretting over some secret group that’s trying to undermine America. Or those long talked about families that have supposedly ruled the world for many years.

I believe that conservative Christians are in danger of losing their core focus on the gospel and evangelism. These are being subtly replaced with an activism that is most concerned with preserving a certain way of life. The enemy of our souls has fooled many believers into fighting the wrong battle. They use their gifts to lesser ends than God’s kingdom, although they might see it as protecting God’s kingdom. I’ve seen many use moral language and Bible verses as if to identify with Christianity. But instead of strengthening faith, guarding hope, and promoting love, they are waging a war for a kingdom which will perish.

The dark cabal that matters most has convinced many that investing your time, energy and passion in an unbelieving political pundit is more important than a third world believer being persecuted for sharing Christ. And I think people miss the irony when their social media habits are consumed with cryptic conspiracies and their Facebook wall is plastered with political vitriol while their homepage also says “He is risen” within the background of an American flag.
