Beware the virus of unbelief!

Let us instead believe, confident in the sure promises of God, the daily sufficiency of grace, and in the truth that God is King now and forever.

Whereas folks, therefore, infected with the unbelief-virus, see and speak of this pandemic merely as the onset of global shortages, disease, and death, we shall regard this as a sure sign of the coming of the Lord (Matthew 24: 1-31; Luke 21: 7-28).

When in these times (times that are truly trying men’s souls) all the government can offer is the national guard, some medical supplies, and maybe money, we declare the truth of God, and the great salvation that is in Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 4: 1-5), calling all to repentance and faith.

When folks recommend “social distancing,” therefore, we will take that to heart to prevent disease, but we will continue to assemble together (if only virtually, and always with believing virtue) as long as we are able, to preach the gospel and to encourage one another in the faith.

For we would heed the exhortation of Hebrews 10:24,25:

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

We would know the blessing of the Holy Spirit working faith through the ministry of the Word.

We would look around us not only, but also up, for from thence our redemption is drawing nigh (Luke 21: 28).

For such a time as this!
