In this midst of GVO (the great viral outbreak) I trust this finds you all well. The circumstances have changed. We keep a “social distance” to avoid the spread of a virus. Some basic stuff is not as easy to get from the stores. News has shifted from global warming and even politics to CoViD-19. One thing has not changed. God. God Who is the GOV, as in the absolute Monarch, reigning in the heavens (Psalm 115:3). God Who is GOOD. God Who is OURS for Jesus’ sake.
And we are His. In fact, whether we live, or die, Paul says, we are the Lord’s (Romans 15:8).
Therefore, beloved of God, we have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about.
Our only comfort in life and in death is still our great comfort: we belong, body and soul, to the great Savior our Lord Jesus Christ (LD 1).
Remember your catechism, dear congregation, and the Word of God living and abiding forever.
Shine in the darkness.
Preach peace into the chaos.
You, fellow believers. Anointed. Raised up. Called. For such a time as this.
