To God be the glory â âAnd she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.â As we celebrate this time of year with families and friends let us worship God in that He sent His only begotten Son, made flesh, took the form of a servant, and by His obedience to death enabled God to declare His people righteous in Him.. We rejoice that Jesus was born, but the great message of the Gospel is that Christ willingly came; He was willingly crucified, and by His blood accomplished our eternal redemption. The child born was Jesus of Nazareth; the son given was the MIGHTY GOD, the Wonderful Counselor, the Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace. He says âI AM THE LORD: and that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven imagesâ (Isa.42:8). We live in a day of pride; men glory in their achievements of science and philosophy, education, industrialization and yes do they greatly boast in their religious achievements. Pride to the Almighty is an infinite offense. âGod hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not to bring to naught things that are: that no flesh should glory in His presence.â Who of this boastful, unbelieving pride-filled world would think that the birth of Jesus declares His people were dead in sin and were incapable of justifying themselves by the works of the law; that the birth of Jesus manifests the love of God for His elect. Godâs love is only in His Son toward those chosen in Him. The birth of Jesus declares that God alone is righteous, Jesus was born to die that He might declare Godâs ârighteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of those which believe in Jesus.â Is there no room at all for men to glory? Yes, if you are a believer glory in this, âBut of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lordâ (I Cor.1:30-31). The Apostle Paul gloried only in the cross of Christ (Galatians 6:14). Jeremiah says (Jer.9:23-24), âThus saith the Lord, let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth: for in these things I delight saith the Lord.â J.C. Philpot said, âWhen a man has a view of the Son of God, then he can and may glory in the Lord. He can say, âO what a Lord there is above! How glorious is He in His Excellency, His Suitability, and His Blessedness; how glorious His Wisdom, His Righteousness, His Sanctification, and His Redemption. Let my whole glory be there; let me not take to myself a single atom of it.â
âHe rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The GLORIES of His righteousness, and wonders of His love.â ~~wtw
