“... the desire of all nations shall come...” Haggai 2:7. The Lord Jesus Christ is called “the desire of all nations.” While it is said “they see no beauty in him to desire hm” and many confess, “we will not have this man to reign over us,” yet Christ is desired by many Gentiles and would be desirable by all if they were not blind to His beauty. He is most desirable in Himself, and all things that are desirable are found in Him. He is riches and honour. He is the treasure of unsearchable riches, the pearl of great price and the sun of righteousness. "For it has pleased the Father that in him all fullness should dwell," (Colossians 1:19).
If Christ is thus the desire of all nations then we must make Him the first and chief desire of our own hearts.
“Christ is a spring full of the water of life, a hive of sweetness, a storehouse of riches, a river of pleasures, wherein you may bathe your souls to all eternity!” (William Dyer).
