Perhaps my eyes are blind. You pre-trib people can pray for me. But when I read through Scripture, as I have done for many many years now, I see only one coming of the Lord. He came once. Scripture says He will come a second time. I see no mention of a third coming, even if He only comes into the atmosphere and shoots back up with His people. I just can't find such a reference.
When Jesus comes, He comes to bring the wrath of God to a planet that deserves it mightily. Yes, from this outpouring God's people will be spared. All of them. Those who love to quote 1 Thessalonians 5:9 about God not appointing us to wrath will be fully satisfied on that day. When the wrath comes, we go. For sure.
But persecution is not wrath. Wrath is from God and the Man He has appointed to mete out judgment at His coming. Wrath is from Heaven. Persecution is from hell. From earth. From the Devil. God does not persecute His people, but He does allow them to endure persecution.
The Devil's Day, called the Tribulation, will bring the Devil's persecution to those who love Jesus Christ with all their heart. Public blasphemy will be everywhere. War will be declared on the saints. A war that saints will lose, humanly speaking. All who will not worship the antichrist will be killed. There will be no buying or selling of anything, worldwide, by those who do not take the antichrist mark.
All of that is from Revelation 13, forthose who need a text of proof.
That is persecution. God's people are obviously still here or the antichrist would have no target. They will all be the victims of the greatest genocide in history. The Holocaust will pale. The Crusade against Jews will seem nothing. MOdern tormentors, they are amateurs. God's people will be sent to heaven by the thousands, the millions.
The Church will no more be spared this coming persecution than the present church is being spared slaughters by Muslims, and the ongoing torment by Communist governments like North Korea.
Soft and pleasure-seeking communities of faith will be shocked into the awareness that this Christian thing is serious. Those who have been teaching that persecution is not for Western believers will be caught seriously off-guard. They may be the first to fall.
Be ready. Not as Jim Bakker is trying to make people ready. You remember ex-con Jim Bakker? He still cons audiences into sending him money. And what is he selling here in 2019? Food to see you through the coming Christian Holocaust.
Dear friend, no food source will deliver you from the Tribulation. Bakker himself will soon find out that the prisons he has seen so far do not compare with the enslavement made available by the coming world ruler. And all the food stored up in his garage will be given to his persecutors, not to God's people.
Be ready in your heart. In your attitude. In your approach to the things of God. In prayer. In humble service in your church. In the winning of souls. Brace yourself. Discipline yourself. In other words, lead the Christian life. Persecution is coming. Worldwide. We will all discover that we were no better than the Koreans, or Chinese, or Nigerians, after all.
All who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. A promise of God.
