“We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5
I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. Psalm 30:1-4
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer.I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Psalm 32:1-5

WHAT GOD HATH JOINED TOGETHER "...to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called." (Jude 1:1). Our covenant God who manifests Himself in three Persons, has set forth in His word that each Person of the Divine Trinity shall have a part in the salvation of sinners by His grace. TheFather sanctified in eternal election in Christ; The Son preserved by His eternal redemption on the cross; The Holy Spirit effectually calls the elect, redeemed vessels of mercy to life in Christ Jesus. What God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Pastor Charles Pennington
"THE WORLD BY WISDOM KNEW NOT GOD" What did the philosophy of Greece do for its disciples? It made them ignorant worshipers of an "unknown God"(Acts 17:23). The inscription on their altar published to the universe their ignorance and shame.
How can I know God? Where can I find Him? Can science and philosophy tell me? Have they ever told anyone? No, never. “The world by wisdom knew not God.” The schools of ancient philosophy could only plunge the human mind into darkness and hopeless bewilderment, and the schools of modern philosophy are not one bit better. They give no certainty, no safe anchorage, no solid ground of confidence, only hopeless speculation, torturing doubt, and wild and baseless theory. That’s all human philosophy in any age or of any nation has to offer an earnest seeker of truth. How then are we to know God? If such a stupendous result hangs on this knowledge; if to know God is life eternal, and Jesus says it is (John 17:3), then how is He to be known? “No man hath seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him”(John 1:18). Here we have the answer. Christ reveals God to the soul and reveals the Father to the heart. We are not sent to creation to learn who God is, though we see His power, wisdom and goodness there. We are not sent to the law, though we see His holiness and justice there. No, if we want to know Whom and What God is, we are to look into the face of Jesus Christ, Who dwelt in His bosom before all worlds, Who was His eternal delight, the object of His affections. Pastor Scott Richardson
WHEN ALL IS FINISHED “When it is all finished, — when every one, who ever shall be called, has been called, — when every one of the Lord’s elect has been regenerated, justified, sanctified, and glorified, — when the whole of the blood-washed family of God shall surround the throne above, all the glory shall be given to the Lord alone. There will be no jarring note in heaven, no whisper of human merit, no claim of a reward for good intentions; but every crown shall be cast at Jesus’ feet, and every voice shall join in the ascription, ‘Not unto us, not unto us, but unto thy name be all the glory of the salvation which thou hast wrought out for us from first to last.’” C. H.Spurgeon
WHAT PLEASES GOD PLEASES HIS PEOPLE For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;(Acts 15:28).
When the brethren in Jerusalem wrote this inspired letter to the church in Antioch they declared this strong Biblical principle that the testimony of God plainly sets forth,“For it seemed good (pleasing) to the Holy Ghost, and to us.”
What is pleasing to God in creation, providence and salvation is also most pleasing to His covenant people. We say with David, “But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased” (Psalm 115:3).Or with Eli, “It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good (1Sam. 3:18).
It was most pleasing to God to sovereignly and unconditionally choose His people in Christ before the foundation of the world (1Sam. 12:22; Eph. 1:3-6).We thank our Lord that He purposed to choose us in electing love or we never would have chosen Him or believed Him. (John 16:15; Eph. 1:19; 2Thes.2:13).
It was well pleasing to our Lord to bruise the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins (Isa. 53:10; Acts 2:23).It is well pleasing to every believer to see our sins fully atoned for and eternally put away in Christ crucified( Isa. 44: 22-23;1Cor. 1:18; 2:2; Heb. 9:26; 1John 4:10).
It is most pleasing to our gracious Lord that in the Lord Jesus Christ should all the fullness of the Godhead dwell bodily and to place all spiritual blessings in Him(John 1:14: Eph. 1:3; Col. 1:19; 2:9; 1John 5:11-12). It is also well pleasing to every believer to rejoice, receive by faith and rest in complete salvation in Jesus Christ (1Cor. 1:30; Phil. 3:7-9; Col. 2:10).
It is most pleasing to our sovereign Lord that through the preaching of the gospel of Christ to quicken, enlighten and call His people to Himself, from darkness to light and from bondage to liberty (1Cor. 1:21; 1Peter. 1:23; James 1:18; Col. 1:13).It certainly is well pleasing to every believer to hear about His Lord through the declaration of the gospel and to be given faith to embrace Him (Rom. 10:13-17; Eph. 2:8-9), light to reveal Him (2Cor. 4:6) and liberty to worship Him in Spirit and truth (John 4:24).
