All The Way My Savior Leads Me
“Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.” (Exodus 15:13)
How comforting it is to know that our Lord leads His people every step of their way. From the cradle to the grave, He is with them. He was with them before they were ever with Him. Before He formed them in the belly, He knew them, and loved them, and died for them on the tree. He led them to Calvary. He led them to the Judgment throne of God. He led them to the grave; and He led them out of the grave. He leads them in the world through their sinful walk of darkness to the glorious light of Christ. He leads them to faith in His blood. He leads them to His loving fold of sheep who congregate in His name. He leads them to His will concerning them until He finally leads them home.
~In the words of Fanny Crosby~
“All the way my Savior leads me; What have I to ask beside? Can I doubt His tender mercy, Who through life has been my guide? Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort, Here by faith in Him to dwell! For I know, whate’er befall me, Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate’er befall me, Jesus doeth all things well.
All the way my Savior leads me, Cheers each winding path I tread; Gives me grace for every trial, Feeds me with the living bread. Though my weary steps may falter, And my soul athirst may be, Gushing from the rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy I see; Gushing from the rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy I see.
All the way my Savior leads me O the fullness of His love! Perfect rest to me is promised In my Father’s house above. When my spirit, clothed immortal, Wings its flight to realms of day This my song through endless ages— Jesus led me all the way; This my song through endless ages— Jesus led me all the way.”
