THE END OF ARGUING
Men have long loved to argue about Biblical truths. I freely confess that I avoid those arguments like the plague. There is no benefit in debating God’s truth with an unregenerate person. It is impossible to prove the existence of light to a blind person. The best thing we can do for lost souls is preach the gospel to them and leave them alone with God. All argument will stop when Christ is pleased to reveal Himself because when Christ is revealed there is submission to Christ. No one will ever argue about man’s freewill, God’s crown right to elect a people to save, Christ’s limited atonement for His elect people, or the eternal salvation of God’s elect if they have submitted themselves to Christ the King. The people still arguing against those truths are people who have not submitted to Christ.

True Profession
“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:18).
The thing that troubles me most about the validity of our profession of Christ is that we talk, preach, and sing of love, mercy, and forgiveness. But then, when the opportunity comes for us to love the unlovely, forgive the offender, and bind up the wounded heart, we join the circle of Pharisees, clutching our stones, ready to wound and maim.
A profession that does not produce is a false profession. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”(Gal. 5:22-23)

Adam, The First and The Second
We fell in the first Adam through no fault of our own, we rise in the second Adam through no merit of our own, so we rise in the same manner as we fell, only in a different person. It is by the Free Grace of God that we are taken back into His favor.
I wish we could understand that just as we were condemned in Adam and came under the just sentence of death, if we believe in the Lord Jesus, we shall be cleansed from our many offenses, and God will look on us as perfectly just in Christ Jesus. We shall by faith have peace with God and there shall be good reason for peace, for everything which made God angry with us shall have been put away, and we will be able with confidence to say, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.”
Even if the devil was base enough to fabricate a charge against the believer, yet we could say, “It is God that justifieth who is He that condemneth?” Since Christ has died and risen again, and now sits at the right hand of God and makes intercession for us, what judgment have we to fear? Glory to God for that free gift (Rom. 8)!
