We will have a church dinner following the service today to celebrate zero birthdays for Christy Collins, Hannah Hall, Julie Thornbury, and Mike Bartram. WHEN I AM WEAK THEN AM I STRONG – II Cor. 12:10
Sin is so deceptive it makes us think there is some strength in our flesh. The flesh makes us think we are smart enough to understand the things of God. The flesh makes us think we are good enough to earn God’s favor. The flesh makes us think we are strong enough to endure trials and afflictions. We will go to hell trusting in the strength of the flesh unless God by His grace makes us weak.
What a blessing to be made weak! When God makes us weak in understanding so that we cannot understand the gospel, then we will be strong because we will rely on God to reveal it to us. What a blessing it is to believe in the heart what cannot be comprehended by the head! When God makes us weak in our own goodness, then we will be strong because we will rely on Christ to be all of our righteousness. What a blessing it is when Christ is our righteousness! When God makes us so weak that we cannot endure trials and heartaches then we will be strong because we will rely on God’s grace, which is sufficient for every trial. (II Cor. 12:9) What a blessing to rely on God’s grace and goodness and not on my own strength!

A DEBT TO PAY
“Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” It is plainly stated, “love for another fulfills the law.”
Would you not owe a brother or sister anything? Would not you like to be with any of your brethren and say I love them – enjoy them – pray for them?
To be able to come into a worship service with your heart filled with love for Christ the Lord and His people, and leave the service rejoicing, because again, “the love of God was shed abroad in our hearts”?
This is a debt we will always be paying; and if we aren’t paying on this debt, the law comes and condemns us – because “love fulfills the law” – failing to love one another is a grievous failure of the law, “and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” So we have a debt to pay that will never be paid, we will always owe it to one another to love each other until one day God makes all things new in glory!
May God in His blessed grace enable us to continually and freely always pay on this debt, “To love one another”.

If I Am Not Saved
If I am not saved, it is not because I want to be saved and God refuses to save me. If I am not saved it is not because God did not elect me, Christ did not die for me, and the Holy Spirit did not give me life. If I am not saved it is because I do not want to be saved. That does not mean I do not want to be delivered from the punishment of hell. But it does mean I do not want to be saved God’s way on God’s terms. If I am saved, I do want to be saved. If I am saved I am saved because God elected me, Christ died for me, and the Holy Spirit gave me life! But if I am not saved, I have no one to blame but myself. I do not want to be saved. Could anyone charge God with injustice because He did not give to somebody something they did not want?
