So many people are worried and frazzled and have so many anxious moments in life. In our passage today, we see Jesus speak directly to a friend of His named Martha. He had to sit her down and challenge her to spend time with Him. Martha was anxious and troubled with many things. She was so worried about the details of entertaining Jesus when He came over that she wasn’t spending any time with Him.

Not spending time alone with the Lord can be a huge problem in life. It is your closeness with Him that is going to help you overcome anxiety, worry, and obstacles. It is your fellowship with Him, knowing what He has already said in His Word, and spending that time with Him. When you do, you’re going to be able to overcome those worries and those anxieties. The time that you spend with the Lord will build your trust in the Lord. The more that you are with Him, the more that you are going to be convinced that He cares about you. The more that you realize that He cares about you, the more that you will trust in Him.

Get into a habit. Find a time in your day and make it consistent to where you can stop and unplug and just be with Him. Just talk to Him. Fellowship with Him. Bring your problems to Him. Bring your heart to Him. Bring adoration to Him. Open your Bible. The Bible is God speaking to you, and everything you need is right there
