"Walking Confidentially" Psalm 1&4, Proverbs 10:9 This past week I have turned to some texts that are beneficial to me. Proverbs is VERY practical and this illustration came to mind. When you speed, you look in your rearview mirror as your break the law and do so as long as your are speeding, trying to avoid and having to reap the repercussions. He that walks uprightly will not suffer, but those who transgress are ALWAYS "looking in their rearview mirror!" We too are drawn away time to time by our flesh and here we are all warned both positively and negatively.
This is the life of the child of God. Scripture speaks to our lives from certain perspectives (path, conversation, our way...) and this speaks to how we are going to walk in this life. Here is our Christian walk in every sense of the word and we are to walk in our integrity. An UNCOMPRIMISING stand on values that you hold dear. What are the PRINCIPALS that show us that we are walking in integrity? Those values in the world are always changing with culture....but we are talking about the Word of God which dictates ALL of life. When we live according to those values we are upright and walk in our integrity and not according to other men which is subject to change. We stand open, naked before God who have been redeemed to His praise and to walk in His precepts!
But how are we going to do this? We are citizens of the Kingdom and He gives us His precepts to walk according to them in a Godly, Christian walk as we walk uprightly and in our integrity. Christ also so rules in us by His word and Spirit and we know this! That Spirit leads us and binds these standards in our hearts so we intuitively know when we depart from those precepts and it troubles our consciousness as we try to avoid or "bury it." Read Psalm 241-249 and you will find how the Word of God leads the child of God as a delineation of his life. We stand in subjection to our Lord who is the KING of His Church! And in this world even today...God's Word does NOT change. Why are the things that were important to our forefathers contextualized today even in the CHURCH WORLD???
There is a very beneficial result. You will reap enormous blessings. Negatively "he will be made known."...to twist it or hide it or change the ways of the Lord the Lord will find us out! Many examples of this in scripture. Ananias and Sapphira were going to secretly sell the land giving 1/2 to the church and pocketing the rest and the Holy Spirit struck them dead! And the same Lord will find us out and demands that we walk in His ways. And when we do....we won't have to "look in our rearview mirror!" But when, from the heart, we seek Jehovah God we stand like Daniel and his friends who would not COMPROMISE and whom God walked with among the fire!
When you walk with the Lord beloved there are no stings or regrets with peace! And also be assured that He will NEVER EVER put us to shame. We won't have to look over our backs because "God's got it!"
