Here is a fellowship that runs through the whole body of Christ. The word for fellowship is koinonia which means a community, communion, and joint participation. This is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. Although there are personal distinctions and peculiarities among the LORD’s people, there is a communion (or common union) that binds us together. We all share ONE common salvation, Jude 1:3. All have been saved in the same way- electing, redeeming, justifying, and effectual Grace, Ephesians 1:3-14. There is one body and one Spirit, even as there is one calling in one Hope belonging to all the saints. One LORD, one Faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, Who is above all, and through all, and in each member of Christ’s body, Ephesians 4:4-7. We all have the same precious promises that have been fulfilled fully, freely, and forever in the finished work of the LORD Jesus. There are no degrees of holiness here, or in glory to follow. If we are the LORD’s, how we ought to cherish what we share together in Christ and because of Christ. Eternal Life became flesh to bring us into eternal communion with the Father, the Son, and those whom He has purchased.
