Worthy the Lamb, for He was Slain
Author: James Montgomery Tune: From Every Stormy Wind
1. Come, let us sing the song of songs,
The glory which to Christ belongs;
The hosts of Heav'n began the strain,
Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain.
2. Slain to redeem us by His blood,
And makes us kings and priest to God;
To cleanse from ev'ry sinful stain,
Worthy the lamb, for He was slain.
3. Among a thousand hearts and songs,
His sacred name fills all our tongues;
All pow'r in Heav'n and earth proclaim,
Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain.
4. Long as I live and when I die,
This song of songs shall be my cry;
And while in Heav'n with Him I reign,
Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain.

In Christ
It is true that I have sin in me, but it is pardoned. God has forgiven me all trespasses. I stand before Him in my Redeemer, who undertook for me, and I am perfect in Him. The Father chose me in His Son. He looks upon the face of His beloved, and sees me in Him.
In Christ He is well pleased, so He is with me! As He loves Christ, He loves me! This is the glorious privilege which by faith I now enjoy. I deny sight and sense, and I believe the Word of God!
I adhere strictly to the Word of God concerning me, believing myself to be dead indeed unto sin in Christ, and in Him absolutely freed from guilt and condemnation. The Father is at peace with me, and He loves me in His Son with the same love with which He loves Christ - His Father and my Father.
With this persuasion I go to war with my corruptions. They are fighting against everything that is dear and precious to my soul; but having the promised grace of the almighty Savior for my help, I desire to set upon them in His name. I am at war with sin but at peace in Christ! --William Romaine

Perfect in Christ
The believer is perfect in Christ; but in himself he is a poor, feeble creature, ever liable to fall. Oh, the unspeakable blessedness of having One who can manage all his affairs for him at the right hand of the majesty in the heavens; One who upholds him always by His right hand; One who will never let him go; One who is "the same yesterday, today, and forever." One who will bear him through all the difficulties and dangers that surround him, and finally present him FAULTLESS before the presence of His glory with great joy. Blessed forever be the grace that has made such provision for all our needs in the blood of a spotless Victim and the intercession of a Divine High Priest. --Scott Richardson

The Greatest Message
Every time I read about, hear a sermon about, or think about what it is for a sinner such as myself to be justified before the Holy God, I say to myself, "That is the greatest thing in the universe, the greatest message I have ever heard or expect to hear." There is nothing that gives me hope, increases my faith, or motivates me toward my God like that blessed Good News. The thought of God choosing me, becoming a man, living under His own law in perfect obedience to establish righteousness as a man and imputing that righteousness to me -- oh, the wisdom and grace of God! The thought of Him dying on the cross at the hand of His own wrath to satisfy His justice for me and then revealing all this to me by His Spirit through the Gospel of His grace in Christ -- it is unbelievable -- too good to be true! But it is true, I do believe it and I do rejoice in it! Before God, in Christ, I am just like Christ! What amazing grace! --Pastor Gary Shepard
