Today I was eating at a local restaurant and the waitress was telling how she hated working on Sunday's. I thought perhaps she hated working Sunday's because she would rather go to Church. Boy was I ever wrong! She proceeded to tell me on Sunday's the Church crowd would come in after Church and they were the worst people to deal with. She said they were impatient, rude and demanding. I"m sure they did not tip well either. Since when do we as Christ followers get a pass for being jerks? Galatians 5:22 tells us "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control". Come on we (Christ followers) are better than this! If you think you represent Christ well by belittling a woman just trying to support her family you should be ashamed of yourself. Stop it confess and repent! The Holy Spirit does not lead us to be jerks! PS if you can't afford to tip well you can't afford to eat out. We are better than this, we are children of God, Act like it! |
