On a record-breaking day in Deerfield Beach, Florida, a 101-year-old man became the oldest golfer to make a hole-in-one, acing the par 3, 16^th hole.

Harold Stilson turned 101 on April 10, 2001. When he aced the 108-yard hole, he broke the current record set by a 99-year-old Spaniard in 1985.

Stilson said, “I didn’t think I hit it very well, I turned and walked away and they (Ken and Pat) were shouting, ‘It went in. It went in!’”

Ken Fleming, who was golfing with Harold, said, “It was a perfect shot. It rolled right into the hole and my son and I let out a hoot and a holler. Harold was just ho-hum about it.”

It turns out that Harold started playing at the age of 20. When he made his first hole-in-one at the age of 71, he was excited. However, he worked hard for quite a while before he really saw the fruit of his labor.

Great things can be accomplished no matter what your age. The founder of Awana Clubs International, Art Rohrheim, was just as strong for the Lord when he passed away at 99 as when he was 28.
