“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation,
that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;
of whom I am chief.
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy,
that in me first Jesus Christ
might shew forth all longsuffering,
for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting.”
1Timothy 1:15-16

One with Jesus
Author: Gary Shepard Tune: Praise The Savior (German Melody)
1. One with Jesus, what a Savior! Separated from Him never.
One with Him thus one in favor, With my God above.
2. One with Christ in God’s election; In Him by divine selection;
Grace not works our one connection, To the Righteous One!
3. One with Christ in close relation. Saved by covenant salvation.
Put by God’s predestination, In His Son of love.
4. One with Jesus here rejected. In His death sins curse corrected.
One with Jesus resurrected. Never more to die!
5. One with Christ for heaven suited In His righteousness imputed
Law and justice now saluted. Praise His righteous grace!
6. One with Jesus, blessed union!
Holding with Him sweet communion!
Tis believing not presuming, That we rest in Him.

The Goldmine!
"Yea, He is altogether lovely." Song of Songs 5:16
Men know not the gold which lies in the mine of Christ Jesus, or surely they would dig in it night and day.
They have yet discovered that pearl of great price, or they would have sold their all, to buy the field wherein it lies.
--C.H. Spurgeon

Accepted in Christ!
“To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:6
GOD tells us that His people are ACCEPTED IN CHRIST in Ephesians 1:6. If a person is without Christ, then he has nothing that God will accept! God tells us that no man CAN COME unto the Father but by Christ; therefore, if a person is without Christ, he has no ground upon which he can approach God.
Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." If He is THE WAY, there is no other way; if He is THE TRUTH, everything else is a lie; and if He is THE LIFE, everything apart from Him is death.
Those who HAVE CHRIST have His blood for pardon, His righteousness for justification, His fullness for every need, His strength to support us, His promises to cheer us, His grace to keep us, and His power to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. --W. Gadsby

Look to Christ Alone
Many preachers and others have tried to tell men and women HOW TO BE SAVED by multiplying words without wisdom or knowledge, actually leading sinners AWAY from Christ, AWAY from grace by setting the sinner to DOING and not believing. As preachers, our business is not to give such directions, but, as the apostles did, TO PREACH CHRIST--Christ eternal, Christ incarnate, Christ crucified, risen, and enthroned, a sufficient and complete savior and a present salvation. Then it is that sinners will LOOK TO CHRIST and be converted. HE must be lifted up; for He said, "And I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men UNTO ME." A person is not saved by looking to anyone or anything except the Lord Jesus Christ, and this look continues until we see Him and are made like Him. --Horatius Bonar

Trials and Afflictions
The trials, afflictions, persecutions and heartaches of this world are to believers much like the hornets sent by God to gradually drive out the Canaanites from the promised land. The repeated stings of life in a sin-cursed world make God's people ready and willing to leave this world for the presence of God. Not only to be simply rid of these things but to be with Christ who delivered us from this present evil world. --Gary Shepard
