Life's Roadmap - Pastor CJ Armstrong

Today's Scripture: A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. Proverbs 22:3

Today we will look at the last three steps for having a spiritual driving plan for the highways of life.

Based upon what God has given us, we “Predict” where the struggle will be to overcome sin or to enact righteousness. Very rarely do we sin without some fashion of temptation or encountering some 'trigger' that makes us want to sin. If we can anticipate the triggers of our temptation, then we will be better equipped to stand against temptation and sin. If we can anticipate areas in which we can perform good works, then we will be in a better position to do so. (Proverbs 22:3)

Next, we “Decide” how we are either going to handle the temptation or enact the good work. All too often, we are reactive to the temptations and struggles of life instead of being proactive. By getting ahead of the game and developing a plan and strategy for dealing with temptations, we will have an easier time repelling them. (Daniel 1:8, Acts 11:22-24)

Finally, none of the above planning is worth anything it if is not “Executed.” A plan is only worthwhile if it is put into action. If we are going to make any changes in our life or grow closer to God, then we must make the conscious effort to do so. (James 1:22)

I hope that this roadmap will help you navigate the twists and turns of the road of life. May God bless your efforts to grow spiritually.
