Suppose you saw that there was going to be a meeting where the most recent studies in quantum physics were going to be discussed. You eagerly anticipated the event, arriving early to get a good seat. Then, to your dismay, a seven-year-old child came out and began criticizing the latest studies and information.

While the likelihood of that happening is extremely low, something similar happens every day when lowly man dares to engage in the folly of questioning God or arguing with Him. The wisest man on earth is but a child when compared to the infinite wisdom of God.

It was not very long ago that “modern science” thought that bleeding a person would heal infection. Today, we know that to be foolishness. What modern science considers to be knowledge today will most likely be thought of as basic knowledge in a hundred years.

Too often, we experience hardship or trials, or see someone else being blessed, and dare to question God’s wisdom. We wonder why He would allow us to go through a trial like losing a loved one. We rail against Him when He blesses someone who doesn’t live up to our “high” standards.

“O man, who art thou that repliest against God?” (Romans 9:20) The infinite wisdom of God shows us the folly of replying against God or entering into controversy with Him. Let us not be guilty of talking back to the God Who is infinitely wise.
