SWEET MERCY FOR THE GUILTY
What could be sweeter to a guilty sinner than mercy in Christ? What could be sweeter than hearing God say that He will not give me the punishment that I deserve because He gave Christ my Substitute the punishment that I deserve? Nothing can be sweeter news to a guilt sinner! “Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness.” (Judges 14:14)
“WHOM”
All error (false faith) is evidenced when a person is trusting in and clinging to a “What.” True, saving faith believes: “WHOM!” The apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 1:12 “for I know WHOM I have believed!”
Baptism - is a “what.”
Walking down an aisle - is a “what.”
Giving your heart - is a “what.”
Making a decision - is a “what.”
Abstaining from certain foods or drinks - is a “what.”
A certain standard of morality - is a “what.”
But if a sinner ever sees “WHOM!” If a sinner ever sees CHRIST! That sinner will stop looking at every “what” that the law presents to him, and he will cry: “I know WHOM I have believed, and am persuaded that HE IS ABLE to keep that which I have committed unto HIM against that day!”

COME UNTO CHRIST
Are you laboring under the burden of the law? Christ fulfilled the law for his people. He is the end of the law for righteousness to all who believe. Christ says, “Come unto me and I will give you rest!” (Mt 11: 28)Are you heavy laden under the heavy load of guilt from your sin? Christ put away the sin of his people on the cross. Christ says, “Come unto me and I will give your rest!” Are you under the weight of your old fleshly man? The old sinful man in Christ’s people was crucified when Christ was crucified. So Christ says, “Come unto me and I will give you rest.” Are you loaded down with the burden of this life? To those who come to Christ, he says “My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid….in me ye have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world…” (John 14: 27; 16: 33)

HAVE YOU SEEN CHRIST?
My dear friends, have you seen Christ? Have you come to Him? Have you fled to Him for refuge? Have you laid hold upon Him alone as having the words of eternal life? Salvation is in a Person, and not in a doctrine, church, or the works and will of the flesh. Salvation is to know Christ, to be in union with Him, to have His righteousness upon your record, to be seen in Him as complete! If you have Christ, you have life! If you have missed Christ, you are condemned! To miss saving faith is to miss union with Christ! To miss union with Christ is to miss spiritual life! To miss spiritual life is to rest under the condemnation of the law of God. I say, you must see Christ, you, must come to Him, you must flee to Him; you must lay hold upon Him! Again, I say, this you cannot do within yourself! You neither have the ability, nor the willingness to come to Him; you do not have the eyes to see Him; you do not have the life and energy to flee to Him. This is His work within you! But here is hope: if you now feel your heart drawn toward Him, and you desire to know Him, and it is the cry of your heart to be possessed of Him, this is His work and not the work of your hard heart...do not despise these workings of grace, no matter how difficult they are on the flesh. Throw yourself upon the mercy of Christ as a hell-deserving sinner, and if you perish, do so lying at the foot of the cross.
