As I was eating lunch with a friend, he joyfully told me about many people he had seen trust Christ because of his witness. I asked him, “How come more people aren’t as excited about witnessing?”

He replied with tears in his eyes, “I don’t think people really believe there really are lost people.”

In other words, when we meet someone, we need to look at them and think to ourselves that they’re lost. We must realize that there is no hope unless we tell them the great news of Jesus Christ. We need to tell them that salvation is free.

We know from the Word of God that God is holy and just. Because He is holy and just, He must punish sin. That alone ought to motivate us and give us compassion for people around us.

This truth brought a very sincere and dedicated man to tears. Shouldn’t we all be just as motivated to give the gospel? Shouldn’t we all have just as much compassion for the lost? God reached out to us and saved us from an eternity in the lake of fire; consequently, we ought to reach out to others and tell them of this salvation.

Do we really believe that people are lost? Do we really believe that the lost will face the judgments in the Tribulation if they aren’t saved before the Rapture? Do we really believe that Hell is a place of torment from where smoke ascends forever and ever? Do we really believe that one day they will stand before God and be condemned for all eternity?

This one truth of the holiness of God ought to change our perspective on every part of life. If you don’t want people to suffer the wrath of God, then share with them the wonders of His grace. Don’t wait!
