Yes, Jesus Brings Division
Jesus makes a dramatic claim. The eternal state of every soul hangs of what they do with Jesus. You may think this is arrogant, as does today's world. Jesus uncovers the fact that the world presupposes that He came to bring peace. Do you suppose that? You need to know how it is that Jesus divides.. It is not because He is doing something wrong, is is because we are doing something wrong. People take offense at Jesus, therefore they are divided. Yet astoundingly, God used this offense to accomplish His purpose. He was bringing fire--the day of the Lord will deal with this global hostility toward God. The only way for God to set the world right is through the judgment of sinners and that is a problem because we are all sinners! Yet before judgment, God has sent judgment on Jesus. This is your opportunity to stop making excuses, and humble yourself in repentance. When the day of the Lord comes, the division will be dreadfully and wonderfully permanent. Don't wait until it is too late. These may one day be the most dreadful words you will ever hear--it is too late!
