Thomas Aquinas was a religious figure who lived in the 1200s. Imagine if he had predicted specific details about Donald Trump. Let’s say he predicted that Donald Trump would come out of nowhere, never hold any political office, and suddenly burst onto the scene to be elected as the 45th President of the United States of America.

Let’s also say he predicted that Donald Trump would be born in Queen’s New York and the very hospital in which Donald Trump would be born. Finally, let’s say he predicted that Donald Trump would descend from both German and Scottish ancestry.

That would be incredible, right? For him to predict these facts over 700 years ago would blow us away. In these predictions, he would be predicting the formation of the United States of America, the concept of elected government, etc. However, the prophecies of Jesus which came to pass are much more incredible. He fulfilled dozens of prophecies including His ancestry, exact place of birth, exact time of triumphal entry into Jerusalem, how He would die, what the money used to betray Him would buy, being pierced without His bones being broken, His resurrection, the government that would be in control of the known world when He came, etc.

There is no way Thomas Aquinas would be able to predict those few prophecies about Donald Trump without being told by Someone Who knows the future. So why do people try to say that the prophecies of Christ being so many and so precise are just a coincidence?

God knows everything, and He is in control. If He says something is going to happen, it will. The prophets in the Bible didn’t just happen to guess right; the Bible is God’s Word. Jesus is the Messiah.
