Be Careful Little Mouth What You Say
Job 19:1-2
Then Job answered and said,
How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
This was Job's response to his "so called" friend who just hurt him very deeply with his words. Many times marriages, friendships, and family relationships are severely damaged by the careless use of words that deeply harm. We are all guilty of spewing off at the mouth and not thinking clearly before we speak. I know I surely am! Like water spilt on the ground that can't be took back, so is our words.
We do not need to say everything that we think in our minds because oftentimes we have not really thought about the consequences of those words. We should never speak in anger because emotional outburst usually results in hurtful words we later regret. Also when we are tired and under stress are guard goes down and words carelessly fly out. We often offer careless advice or are quick in judgement without knowing all the sides of any situation or circumstance.
We as a people by nature keep count of the hurtful things that are said to us, Job said in chapter 19 verse 3, "these ten times have ye reproached me", reproached means to humiliate or insult. I promise if you insult or humiliate someone with your words the devil will make sure they keep an accurate count in their mind just as Job did.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
