I just returned from having a final prayer with Clint and Susan Robinson and their children, Carissa, Caleb, and Alex before they left for Philadelphia airport to fly to Nuremburg, Germany today (March 1st). We wept and hugged and prayed and sang verse 3 of #500, When the Trumpet of the Lord Shall Come. I read Acts 13:3 and they left.
Last night, about 200 attended a send off service and fellowship where I preached on Lessons from the Rope. William Carey, when he left his church in England to sail for India in 1792, made the statement, “I will go down into a pit, but you must hold the ropes.” At the end as Pastors, Deacons, family, and delegates supporting churches gathered around them for prayer, we strung a 142 foot rope throughout the congregation. Each person gravitated to the rope and held on with Bro and Mrs. Robinson on one end of the rope, AND WE PRAYED.
We count it a privilege to send such dedicated servants of the Lord to a foreign land. As you can figure, we are all very close and will miss them dearly. But they have a mission there even as we have here and we must go forward.
Saturday, February 24th, we had over 200 attend two events at the church: our annual Pine Car Derby for our master’s club and a youth volleyball tournament with 4 other churches (69 youth). In each, a Gospel message was given followed by sweet fellowship, competition and great food.
The next great event at Mt. Zion will be Sunday-Wednesday, March 18-21, when we will have revival services with Evangelist Tom Farrell. The last time Dr. Farrell was here, 33 received Christ in 4 services. Invite everyone you can for these life-changing meetings.
The following week, we will begin a two month renovation of our basement.
Mt. Zion is a going, growing place where YOU can jumpstart your Christian walk, grow in the Word, find a place to serve, and meet many new friends. It’s truly “Church, the way it used to be.” You’ll find that the difference is worth the drive. Come and worship with us this Sunday.
