Do you know that the Holy Spirit is called the "Comforter?" In John 14:16 Jesus said to His disciples upon His leaving that He would "pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever." These words to the disciples were words of comfort. They were words of hope. Because Jesus said that He was leaving sorrow had filled their heart. But because they would soon have the Holy Spirit they would never be alone. That is true for you and me. The very moment we receive Jesus as our Savior He sends us His Spirit. The next time you feel alone remember John 14:16.
