Perhaps a better question would be, what do you have your heart and mind fixed on continually? What takes up most of your time, energy and devotion? Maybe you and I need to let God’s Word answer that question for us due to the fact we would not be entirely honest about our heart’s deepest love.

Matthew 6:21 tells us, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” In other words, if your greatest love is money (false god) your heart will be down at the bank or in stocks and bonds or whatever money will buy. If pleasure is your false god, that is about all you think about. Pleasure, I mean the kind that excludes God, is a failure at making you happy.

Matthew 6:19-20 tells us, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.”
