Where are You Looking for Assurance?
Whenever people look inside themselves for assurance of salvation they will always doubt UNLESS they are really deceived into thinking that special something they see in there is of worth and value when it comes to their Justification before God. That's called DECEPTION! So, if someone looks inside and doubts, that is supposed to happen because man cannot be justified by the deeds of the Law. The proper object of faith is Christ ALONE, not yourself. The gospel is not about the your darkened heart/mind. It is about the effectual, accomplished redemption of Christ, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
