I am glad we have a holy, righteous God who cannot, and does not look upon sin with any degree of allowance. There are definite consequences to willful disobedience to God’s Holy Word. Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” This verse informs us that there is a Hell at the end of a sinful life that never has repented and gotten saved. It is repent or perish, turn to Jesus today, tomorrow could be late.

We hear men and women saying, “I don’t believe a holy God would send anyone to Hell!” The truth is, my friend, God does not sent you to Hell, but you choose to go there yourself when you will not repent of your sins and take refuge in Jesus Christ, God’s son. God gave you the remedy for sin and when you refuse God’s remedy, Jesus, you are choosing to go to Hell.

I have noticed that most people want a god who will put up with all our sin, bless us when we curse Him, help us when we are living for the devil, and just be kind of a spiritual Santa Claus. That may be the kind of god you want, but that is not the kind of God we have! It is dangerous to think we can get by with known and unconfessed sins. There are serious consequences to sin, even while we are living. No one ever gets by with sin. Sooner or later we drink the bitter dregs out of the bottom of the cup.
