My hero in the faith, Clarence Sexton, passed away last week on Dec 12, 2023.People like Dr. Sexton are rare. I didn't "belong" in his circles, but he always made the effort to extend his hand of friendship to me. I enjoyed attending his Baptist Friends conferences even though I am a Free Presbyterian. I would typically remain in the background as a fly on the wall just to attend, enjoy, and observe, but he always had me sit next to himself at his table and made me feel so welcome.
He had the wonderful gift of encouragement and was just like Dr. Ian Paisley in that respect. He will be greatly missed but his legacy will continue on in the almost 1,000 sermons that are freely available.
PERSONAL REQUEST
I have a personal request for all who are reading this. Please set aside 30 minutes of your day in a quiet place to watch this compilation of sermon clips as a tribute to my friend. The best way you'll appreciate him is simply to listen to him.
And especially pay attention to the final clip which is a little talk that he gave at our Foundations Conference dinner almost 2 years ago. It is uncannily prophetic and is, in some sense, his most important message to us all.
