'I Was Wrong': Albert Mohler Says He's Voting for Trump
Theologian and seminary president Albert Mohler says in a new column he has changed his mind about Donald Trump as president, even if he hasn’t changed his mind about Trump’s character.

Mohler didn’t support Trump four years ago and spoke out multiple times against the Republican nominee, writing in the summer of 2016 that evangelicals were tragically being urged to support the “lesser of two evils.”

This week, though, Mohler said he now supports Trump. Mohler made his arguments in a column, “Christians, Conscience, and the Looming 2020 Election.” ...

Neil, certainly don't encourage Republicans to vote! Except those who follow George F. Will columns.

I voted early in October, and I know the election commission has my ballot.

Mike, please don't encourage him. It is incredible to me that the Dems could nominate a man as unfitted for office (mentally and ethically) as Biden is, along with a hard Left running mate. They have truly gone mad. We'll find out soon how many Americans have drunk this Kool-Aid.

Mike, abortion may be rated as a secondary goal of any government. The first goal is to have a functioning democracy, as a gentleman above points out in his article.
You’re link is weak, Jim, as most of them are. We don’t need to protect our “democracy” from Trump, we need protect our Republic from people like Biden and you. Don’t forget to vote.

Jim's tired tirades against his previeved enemies, Dominionism, is quite Quixote-esque. He is tilting as phantoms of the Left's imagination.

All law is based on a moral standard. Something is right or correct. Something else is wrong. Who establishes those standards is his biggest concern. He looks for a crowd-sourced set of definitions. At the root of that is self-reliance and self-rule, shaking their collective fist at the Lord.

Instead, Christians acknowledge that the Lord is our maker, sustainer, and King. His moral standards are the ones with which He will judge. While all of us fail that judgment on our own without Christ, His precepts are the best place to start as a basis for right vs wrong and any law that flows from those.

Get your boots on, Jiminy. I’m hauling a busload of white evangelicals to Nebraska to force the kingdom on you. Three fourths of them are Dominionists, and the others are anti-universal healthcare pro-lifers. Man oh man, are YOU in trouble!

I agree with the above Jim. But they also should not try to force a socialist society on everyone like you do.

Jim, your way of arguing is effective but not with any of the posters on this forum. The below is your method and you fool no one:

double-tongued marked by deliberate deceptiveness especially by pretending one set of feelings and acting under the influence of another.

And even more pertinent:

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

I am not confidently predicting victory. I am too scarred by the horrific outcome of the 2016 election to count any chickens, no matter how alive and clucking they might seem....

Mike, abortion may be rated as a secondary goal of any government. The first goal is to have a functioning democracy, as a gentleman above points out in his article.

So having abortions banned, drinking banned, smoking a various substances banned. Can be described as a secondary goal of government or not even a goal of government at all ❗👎

Again I will point out,

"Should Christians try to force the kingdom on others?"---No

Romans 8:7-8

7. because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God, for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be. 8. Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.

Yes and he is wrong for saying there is a homosexual gene that some are born with. Although he did say that didn't give them the right to sin in that manner.

And, I have often wondered why his signed the Manhattan Declaration and then took years to withdraw his signature. This is what I refer to as Christianity 101. That is the most ecumenical document ever printed.

Question: Is the issue of abortion a major/key consideration in the coming election and administration?

Just read Leviticus 20:1-5

Question: So, Why are you pro-life?
Initial Response: Do you mean why have you woven into as part of your faith in Jesus Christ being a pro-life activist?

Answer: For the same Reasons you should Fear God, pray, preach the Gospel and be pro-life too

Funny how you can tell you aren’t forcing your views, but are blind to the fact that living out Christian conviction is not forcing views either. Why is that, Jim? Isn’t it painful having a telephone pole in your eye?

I'm not forcing my views on Nevada or Iowa for that matter. (Should Christians try to force the kingdom on others?)

And: (Christians and Politics, Part 3)

John 18:36

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” --- (NASB)

We do have paramutual betting on horse races in this state. I think we're down to one track though. we used to have three large horse racing tracks in this state.

Romans 8
7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so;
8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.--- (NASB)

Apparently you need some other questions answered as well such as:

"What is Dominion Theology?"

So I'm not going to get overwrought no matter what happens to the gambling issue.

“And I’m running for SBC president “
, just to make everyone feel better when we start pushing social justice over the gospel. My problem with Al Mohler is he is very evasion about his true motives. As he always says,” Christians need to think real hard and quick”, but doesn’t really come out to say what he wants or thinks.. has he wanted the social left evangelical ( the guys and gals who believe in an historical Jesus, just not a risen Savior) and blue haired fundamentalist to sit on the same pew. I’m afraid the theologian may have a lot of trouble steering a ship with conservative Baptists, since he has had no problem firing conservatives at Southeastern Theological seminary.
I believe Al Mohler has the potential to finish the split that JD Greear has accelerated.

Who said I was a Trump supporter. Heck, I don’t criticize all Democrats holding local offices. At the national level, they persecute the Church, kill babies, defile the marriage bed, push unjust wars too, pervert kids, don’t respect property rights, hate Israel, am I missing something? Don’t vote for Trump, but voting for Biden and national democrats with knowledge of this evil is total sin.

Oops! Matthew 23 not 24❗

I will add one more thing and I do act like a Dominionist
when it comes voting on the following issue

They're always trying to bring casinos into the state, and I like the most leaders even of the Republican party are against that❗

I don't see where they have been beneficial to any state except maybe Nevada They certainly weren't helpful to Atlantic City apparently.

Albert Mohler in 2016
R. Albert Mohler Jr wrote:
I have been on the front lines of the battle for the sanctity of human life and the defense of the family for three decades. I could never vote for Hillary Clinton, nor can I vote against my conscience just to prevent her from reaching the Oval Office. Conscience, however, is the central issue in the present crisis.

In the midst of President Bill Clinton’s sex scandal and impeachment, I went on national television numerous times to call upon the president to resign, arguing that he lacked the moral character necessary for any leader, much less the president of the United States. Editorial pages of many major American newspapers made the same call, as did a host of religious leaders.

excerpt from, "For Christians, credibility at stake in election"

Just how many times as Mr. Mohlerq ask Donald Trump to Resign❗ It is certainly hypocritical of him if he hasn't❗

I don't remember where the Democrats demanded anyone to commit immoral acts? But it is wrong:

Forcing the kingdom on others👎
