Children fare better with married parents
A new study from the Center for Social Justice in the United Kingdom found a big difference for children whose parents are married compared to those who are cohabiting.

The study, "Family Structure Still Matters," comes from the independent think tank that studies the root causes of social problems in Britain.

"Marriage has become a middle-class secret," the report said. "Among high income couples (the top quintile) 83% have tied the knot; among low-income parents (bottom quintile) only 55% are married. ...

Is this about marriage per se?

Or about the intellect of some people who cannot perceive (conceive) the import of marriage to family? and relationship?

The inherent value system we obtain genetically from our parents may have distinct effect on our life and attitudes.
But the generation of our peers will also have an effect.

The current generation has more liberalism influence than previously experienced in society. Thus they have less respect and less moral standards and less Christian identity.

Iniquity and disobedience of Bible doctrines are a case in point here, but not the only feature, since current culture practices reject long held traditional principles.

How does one change the views of divorce again? Or is it a miracle only God can work? To clothe back up the nakedness of the marriage bed seems almost impossible.

IMHO, the decline in fear of God and along with it, shame. Even my unbelieving parents (b. before WW2) were shocked when one of their longtime friends divorced because of adultery. Since that generation, the shame of divorce has evaporated.

I say "fear of God" to include those who, while they may not be believers, still have a general fear of eternal consequences.

The rise of the Welfare State, which financially enables irresponsibility. hasn't helped either.

Good point, Neil.

How do we combat that? How did it get this bad? I tend to believe the industrial revolution played a huge role. It took fathers away from the farm so mothers had to pick up the slack which led to a disgruntled attitude and feminism was born. Self sustainability died off and other rabbit trails followed. Progress brought regress. Perhaps that's all straw grasping.....

Antecedent to this issue is staying married in the 1st place. This seems to be difficult for a lot of folks, including Christians, and has been for several generations going, if my anecdotal secondhand experience is any indication.

Well put, Brothers. SA had another story posted recently that highlighted a study released by Congressional Republicans on the demise of the nuclear family. Pretty much stated the same thing. Yet Progressives are desperate to destroy Biblical marriage, childbearing, and childrearing. As we talk with parents who's children are on our child's sports team, we have found that brokenness abounds. Few come from intact families. And the impact is telling.

While there is not, to my knowledge at least, a “scientific study” that shows that children “fare better” when their limbs are not torn off and their brains are not sucked out, I’m sure anyone with any sense at all could see that this is true. In I Chronicles 26:4-5, the Bible reveals that Obed-edom had eight sons, “for God blessed him.” There was a time when most people rightly saw children as blessings to be cherished and enjoyed, and not, as Jim and others see them through their satanic worldview, as curses to be mutilated and destroyed.

The Bible states, Howbeit, there is not in every man that knowledge (I Cor. 8:10) which we could apply here.

We should be grateful that a secular source is confirming what we know to be truth (it would be true regardless of their findings)

There are many people who are skeptical or reject Biblical truth (to their own harm) so a reference from the world is helpful in helping them to see the truth.

Paul used this in Titus 1:11-13

How much tax payer money did they waste just to get the confirmation that doing things God's way is best?
