'Barbarism' prompts Catholic demand to excommunicate governor
Roman Catholic lay leaders on Thursday demanded that Cardinal Timothy Dolan excommunicate New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for signing a state law that allows abortion until birth.
The demand followed an open letter by church leaders condemning Cuomo’s support of the Reproductive Health Act, which was condemned as “barbarism” by Dr. James Dobson, founder of Family Talk and the James Dobson Family Institute..
According to the Daily Caller, the church leaders rejected Cuomo’s idea that the law is in any way “progress.”
“This is not progress. Progress will be achieved when our laws and our culture once again value and respect each unrepeatable gift of human life, from the first moment of creation to natural death,” the bishops said, according to Life Site News...
