Catholic faithful demand change after sex abuse scandals
The day after a grand jury report revealed that Roman Catholic clergy in Pennsylvania molested more than 1,000 children over decades, Adrienne Alexander went to Mass at a Chicago church and waited for the priest to say something about the situation.

He didn't. And that left Alexander fuming. So she went on Facebook to vent — then organized a prayer vigil in Chicago that became the catalyst for similar laity-led vigils in Boston, Philadelphia and other cities nationwide.

Alexander is among countless Catholics in the U.S. who are raising their voices in prayer and protest to demand change amid new revelations of sex abuse by priests and allegations of widespread cover-ups. They are doing letter-writing campaigns and holding prayer vigils and listening sessions in an effort to bring about change from the pews, realizing it's up to them to confront the problem and save the church they love after ...

All pervert Catholic priests should be kicked out of the priesthood.

Lovely words, brother. Really touched my heart. I can say generally the same. When Jesus came calling on me I had nothing to offer but filth and sorrow. Jesus took it all upon Himself and gave me a glistening robe of His righteousness and peace in return. Praise His name.

JaG,

Well said, brother. Many RC's live a more outwardly moral life than many Protestants. But what sets them apart from blood bought Christians is what animates them.

JaG,

Thanks for your comment. Indeed, it's sad to have loved ones held captive by that ungodly institution. But I am convinced God has a remnant within the RCC He has given to the Son to redeem in time and that is my prayer..... that my loved ones are also loved by the Father with an everlasting love and will be called in His time."

Right for sure. For a moment, you want to think that they are better off then, say a Muslim or Buddhist. Simply by seeing them act and behave with "good" morals. But then your reminded that they are just as lost as Hitler or Stalin. It very sad to see them, completely clueless and ignorant of there coming fate. My grandmother is a very good woman, and quite the loyal Catholic. Despite seeing all of her children leave the RCC. She has been through a lot and is still very "personally moral". But...she is full blown Catholic. My prayer is that one day (soon) she will come to a true knowledge and understanding, and stop believing that Catholics and Protestants think the same on salvation, justification, and the like.

Hi Lurker,...your wife is? I didn't know that. I'm gonna try hard to shoot you a quick email tomorrow to ask a question or two for whenever you have time to respond, and no rush at all, I know you're busy.
Yes, sadly she is. I'll look for your email.

In a brief aside in its stunning report on clergy sexual abuse of some thousand children, a Pennsylvania grand jury noted finding “numerous other cases” of Catholic priests’ misconduct, but with adults. That was outside the scope of its investigation, but it’s a problem some experts say may be more pervasive than the abuse of children....

Clerics’ misuse of their power and prestige to harass and abuse women has been largely a forgotten subject in the current sex abuse controversy dividing the Catholic Church—a male-centric debate focused on whether to blame the crisis on homosexuality among priests. But academic research shows that clergy sexual exploitation and abuse of women is pervasive, across religious denominations....

What a blessing. My extended family on my Dads side are mostly Catholic. Some are "non-denomination" but most are not. They are the typical, having not the slightest clue as to what salvation is, who Christ is, and who Mary is not.

Being originally from Louisiana, it is very common there, and very, very predominant in the older generations. And of course the younger generation believes in nothing...

Btw, your comment on the RC institution was so spot on.So many are
deceived by this rotten religion, that never was instituted by God, but was/is satans masterpiece.
Trust your family is well and you are enjoying your grandbabies.
Blessings dear brother.
Glad to hear all is well, sister. Praise God for His precious gifts. And of course I meant to say great grandchild in my earlier.

We will hopefully be entertaining our two youngest grandchildren (6 and 22 months), and their parents, for a couple days later this week so we are pretty excited. They live 5 hours away. Had a list of honey dos to take care of in anticipation.

As for the RCC, thank God I was never part of it but my wife and her entire rather large immediate and extended family are and it is my constant prayer that God causes something to happen to open their eyes and call them out. But even this recent sex abuse revelation hasn't phased them in the least. It's going to take something much more drastic to wake a small remnant from their slumber.

God bless you and all your loved ones.

I remember once arguing with a RC apologist. After some exchanges and him knowing I had been baptized in the RCC as a youth, he finally said something like: since you understand catholicism and reject it, you have excommunicated yourself!
What an honor that was.
Amen indeed, Frank. And thanks for sharing some. Especially...

What a wonderful thing it is to be born of the Spirit and have one's eyes opened and ears unstopped. It is like living on a different level to worldlings, and spiritual truths just pour into the mind.

This of course is very humbling.

Woe to them who try to have mind control over one in saying that their salvation & eternal peace rest with in ones organization, that holds the Golden Keys.

O’ how fitting is this quote is, that my salvation & eternal peace solely rests & is anchored in my relationship with Christ. In who I say He is & how does He Save me, save me from & how does reconciliation affect me, starting inwardly first.

As I am only satisfied by & through Christ Alone, as all sufficiency is only found in Christ Alone amen!

George Whitfield; Works! Works! A man get to heaven by works! I would as soon think of climbing to the moon on a rope of sand!”

Titus 3:5 He saved us not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration, & by the renewing of the Holy Ghost,

Similar to what Martin Luther had in mind 500 years ago but God had another thing in mind. God didn't want to clean up the RCC and reform it but rather call his people out of the evil institution and condemn it. And that He did and one day all will realize it.
