As part of its January 2017 issue exploring our evolving understandings and definitions of gender, National Geographic is featuring nine-year-old transgender rights activist Avery Jackson on its cover—the first time a trans person has made the cover of the magazine.
Jackson rose to stardom last year when she began documenting her transition with “Avery Chats,” a series of YouTube videos describing how she came to understand her identity at such a young age and eventually came out to her parents as trans.
“When I was born, doctors said I was a boy, but I knew in my heart I was a girl,” Jackson explained in her first video. “So I may have some boy body parts, but that’s not wrong, that is OK.”...
Yeah..just a little bit. I'm a door to door sales rep for a fortune 50 company which will go unmentioned. When I was in Ma. I did the same job, and people woiuld slam the door,on me..they do it here too..except they do it with bible verses on their doors. Very interesting. And I REALLY miss good pizza and Chinese food!!
I'm from western mass. Just moved to Kentucky. I really miss New England a lot though and really would, love to go back and Lord willing do some street preaching and maybe help plant a church. I used to love going to Pawtucket Red Sox games at McCoy.
Thanks guys. Ahh, Point Judith, and all points south for that matter. Love the ocean and the villages, with Wickford probably being my favorite oceanfront town. Go to Galilee a lot, Coast Guard House and Iggys, of course. : )
sf that's a great recommendation, I subscribe to Acts and Facts and it is worth it, this months edition is fantastic!
Also from ligonier ministries there is TableTalk magazine, it's mostly on theology topics, has daily devotionals, special offers it's really good. Don't quote me on this but I think it's $25 for a year subscription, $35 for 2 years and $45 for three years, it's a good investment though.
As a disclaimer, TableTalk is reformed theology, I don't know your theology so I just wanted to through that out there, I recommend going to their website www.ligonierministries.com and check it out, they are a very active ministry, their founder, R.C.Sproul has some sermons on here.
sf, I think his radio program, "Renewing your mind" in aired in Texas, you might want to check it out, I try to listen to it daily, and ICR is doing a conference in 2017 in Texas, John MacArthur will be there along with some pretty good ICR speakers.
Mel, The Institute for Creation Research has a free magazine called Acts & Facts. Answer in Genesis also has a magazine, including one for kids. Both of their websites are chock full of information. Well worth replacing NG with creation based ones. Hope that helps.
Our society does a great deal of harm to our children in either the womb or by enforcing body dysmorphia or assuming same sex attraction as a measure of reducing the birth rate in the western world, not to mention , turning over the God designed gene pool of the human species. In AMA , pediatricians are held to federal rules that say, if too lesbians bring in their son, and claim he's a girl, the doctor has to everything in their power to make it so. They are begin the process by putting him on hormonal therapy, and later castration. Judgement and wrath of God awaits every nation who has gone the way of Molech and Baal.
John Yurich USA from USA writes: This perversion is getting worse every week it seems.
Yes, and look at how quickly an entire nation of children have been confused as to their gender, ever since the sodomites were given the green light to do what they do. Seems to me like God has lifted a restraint with this nations new motto of political correctness, tolerance, and diversity, and released a plague of sorts as the sodomite virus has spread and dug in deep.
Please keep mentioning this kid in your prayers. Two very possible and tragic outcomes is that his suicide will be blamed on us "homophobic" Christian bigots and thus will lead to another tragedy of he becoming a martyr, hero, and poster child for other youngsters led astray by Nat Geo and their foolish and reckless parents.
What qualifies a 9 year old to teach anyone else anything about anything whatsoever? or others to listen to a nine-year-old try to talk and teach others about something is ridiculous. National Geographic has vividly demonstrated their lack of ability or qualifications to cover stories about truthFul investigations whatsoever. This is not genuine anthropology which they used to cover in the past but an activist agenda they are using their publication to promote. National Geo. Has no integrity anymore.
So true SF. What they don't realize is that they are condemning themselves, for the 'heart' is where their sin originates - For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:These are the things which defile a man - Matthew 15:19-20
Also, the 'heart' is deceitful and desperately wicked, as Jeremiah 17:9 teaches. Reliance upon the heart is nothing more than a lie from the pit of hell.
The connection between evolution and the explosion of LBGT issues has to do with the concept of being a mistake. Evolution supposely occurred because an offspring here or there was a "mistake," in that it was different than its parent(s) or slightly different than the norm of the species. LBGT also claim to be mistakes. The poor child highlighted by the media thinks he is a girl born in a boy's body - a mistake. The problem is that the Lord makes no mistakes. Even the disabled are created disabled for a specific, special purpose (ex. see John 9:1-3). The rest of Creation was made by God to be perfect, but fell with the federal headship of Adam in Adam's and Eve's original sin. But no effort of the Lord's is by any means a mistake. In fact, Romans 8 tells us that the Creature/all Creation is groaning with us, subjected to futility in hope, while waiting for the revealing of the sons of God. No mistake there!
If I had a dollar for all the times have I heard "God doesn't look at the outward but at the heart" in order to justify a sin I'd be pretty rich. They know just enough scripture to be dangerous to those who know none at all or the equal amount. What blasphemy. Disgusting.
